Whenever i turn the steering wheel it makes a strange noise. If I hold the steering wheel in the turned position, the noise remains. When I let go of it and it goes back to the regular position the noise goes away?? the RPM indicator kinda moves up very little when i turn the wheels left and right..please help

  1. because since you have small displacement engine it will require more fuel(hence increase in rpm) to spin the alternator/pulley/ac compressor/pump to operate them properly. try that with V6 or large displacement engine car rpm won't increase. please correct me if im wrong

  2. did you get custom tires? if ur tires are too big they squeak when u turn. I don't really know much bout cars sorry :/

  3. check your power steering pump and lines it might just be low on fluid or your pump might be bad

  4. its you power steering....the noise is common on cars with power steering...

  5. if you are turning it all the way till it stops and hold it there the pump will make noise.  you should not do this. it can damage the pump. if it is making noise no matter how far you turn it then you need to take it in to get looked at. if it is a SI or a hybrid then you have electric power steering and they do hum a little bit but you really have to be listening to hear it.

  6. Bring it back to the dealer. It's still a fairly new car. You should still have manufacturer warranty. Besides, if it's something that's not covered.. the dealer will tell you first before they do anything to it.
