WHY does my car overheat?????

i just bought a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue GLS. the original motor went out because of the need of new piston rings and it had overheating problems. the previous owner put a motor in that had 52,376 miles. after they drove it home they realized that it still overheats. they brought it back to the same shop and they ended up giving it a whole new cooling system. the problem is that the car still overheats within 10 minutes regardless of wether or not the RPM is at a certain level or if the heater/AC is on/off. if anyone has any idea of what the problem could be please let me know. any answer will be GREATLY appreciated as this car is in mint condition and i would REALLY hate to have to part it out. thanks again!

  1. the radiator might be bad, or leaking

  2. If the Radiator doesn't have any leaks, then check all the radiator hoses.

Do you see antifreeze anywhere under the hood? or under the car? if you do then there is a leak somewhere.  If that is not the case, then you might be using the wrong engine oil.

  3. Pressure test the cooling system and do a block test, that will answer your question.
