Russian ceasefire refusal dims UN hopes for peace.

Russia refused to agree to a cease-fire or a diplomatic agreement Saturday.

"A cease-fire would not be a solution. The fighting is still going on. The Georgian forces are continuing to be on the South Ossetian territory,"

WTF!?

So let me get this straight, So Russia thinks that Solving their problems with Georgia Peacefully with a Diplomatic Agreement is not the answer.

But solving their problems with Georgia with Death & Destruction is the answer!!??

WAR is the answer !!??

Now don't get me wrong, but shouldn't solving the problem in a Peaceful Way with a Diplomatic Agreement, be a Much Wiser Choice & more Economically cheaper & more Fair to the population, than solving the problem with Death & Destruction ??

Solving the Problem with WAR Do you really think that War is the best way to solve a problem??

Killing hundreds, thousands of innocent people with bullets, bombs, & missiles Is that really the best solution to a problem ???

problems Such as the Russian-Georgia conflict ??

Is that really the best the human brain can come up with for solving a problem ??

Now Do YOU AGREE that Russia should go to War against Georgia & other regions such as Abkhazia's Kodori Ridge where 15 U.N. military observers were told to evacuate, in order for Russia to solve their problems with Georgia ???

Because if you agree that Russia should continue their fighting with Georgia, then the fighting with Georgia would keep spilling over to other regions such as Abkhazia's Kodori Ridge.

Main Question is: IS WAR REALLY THE ANSWER ???

Try to Think about it well before you answer, Is War really the Answer to solving problems ??

such as the Russia-Georgia conflict.

  1. It seems like a lot of war is started over the fear that the other side will kill us if we don't kill them first. We were told that if we don't invade Iraq Saddam Hussein will blow us all up. Now we're being told something similiar about Iran.

  3. On Friday, Georgian forces shelled South Ossetian population centers and launched a ground invasion deep into the territory. By noon, news reports announced that they had immobilized much of the opposition and had taken control of South Ossetia's capital, Tskhinvali. The city came under attack by aircraft, artillery and armor, and South Ossetia officials claimed that more than 1,000 people had been killed.

Russia's initial response was to convene an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council, hoping to pass a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire between Georgia and South Ossetia.

The Security Council failed to agree on a resolution.

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev appeared on prime-time television to make a chilling call to arms: "I am obligated to defend the life and honor of Russian citizens, wherever they may be," he said. "We will not let those responsible for the death of our people go unpunished."

Moscow claims to be simply using its military to restore the secessionist boundary.

"Is War really the Answer to solving problems?"  no, it never is, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

  4. Russia is the official U.N. peacekeeping force in Abkhazia too.

The Russians did not start this.

Sakaashvili with his head full of promises of support from Condaleeza Rice and George Bush started it.

He got a ceasefire with negotiations scheduled and then followed the advice of his Israeli military advisors and began a night shelling of a civilian city without warning, 10 hours after the cease fire.

The city was the South Ossetian capital city Tskhinvali.

He killed at least 1,400 innocent civilians.

Then the fool declared war against Russia.

Now he is shaking and bleating like a sacrificial goat on the news for somebody to save him.

I quess he realized too late that all Condaleeza Rice would offer offer were her brave words.

    No.

Sometimes the only answer is to send in the army.

Russia is doing only what they must.

Georgians will have peace, Russia is willing to send her soldiers into harm's way to make sure they do.

  5. Of course, peace would be better.  If you have a solution, please tell us all.

  6. As near as I can figure out, the land itself is important to both sides, the lives in question are not, and neither are the buildings, for that matter.

If you can think of some way that Russia can own that land while it remains either independent or property of Georgia, you might have a non-violent solution.

You need to come to grip with the reality that this is one conflict that isn't about people getting along with each other or racial/religious understanding.  It's about dirt.  Both sides want it, there can be only one that has it.

Peace symbols and Kum Bah Yah isn't going to help this situation.

  7. Negotiate first before war because the latter is a disastrous act.

  8. it should  be the last act not the second act after a harshly worded letter
