WHY is it if you drink 3 shorts in a pub?

maybe your not at ease in the pub surroundings you might be conscious that people are around u an u dont want to appear to be drunk..i would have thought the other way around myself cos when your at home you tent to pour bigger measures than what you get in a pub.

Well you usually drink more quickly in the bar and if you're at home, the drunk feeling isn't so obvious because you're in your comfort zone.

its a psychological thing, the environment of the pub i guess...

It's not just the alcohol that effects you at the bar, It maybe the adrenaline buzz from being around so many people and the music and light settings.  I don't know too many people that sit around with their disco ball and strobe light going with the music up so load it's rattling the walls, while their drinking at home.  But the same goes for being at a house party.  seems like you get drunk quicker at a party full of people,  than just a home with one or two other people.
