When I use limewire for instance, I will be lucky to get up to 1,000 kbps with multiple downloads going at once.

Any help on this would help!

  1. I'm sure you will never get the exact 20mbps you have paid. You can only get a speed of 16-19mbps. It doesn't mean that you will really get a download speed in limewire with 20mbps.

To check your speed, you can go to http://www.speedtest.net

    good luck!

  2. Because the 20Mbps speed is the maximum that the line can provide. The average speed will be a lot lower.

The speed depends on a lot of things, including what other people are doing. If everyone else using Road Runner is currently downloading lots, your internet will go slower too.

  3. sarah is right  to many users shared line bogs it all down
