Erm....this one is even more confusing then the Gymnasts looking underaged...WHY is it a controversy!?!? Here is how much I know so far...

TWO girls....one is unnattractive, but have a great voice, the other one, hot, but not such a great voice(but great lip synchor though).

So the unnattractive girl sings with her prettier voice int he back, while the prettier girl lip synchs and lets people look at her....WHY was this in the news....whats so "controversial" about it!!?!

Do NOT tell me its cheating in the olympics...or there are rules are cr@p like that...because there is no way that there are rules like these in something trivial or simple like an opening ceremony for a sports event....

WHY have there been so many news about this SMALL little quirk in the ceremony...whats wrong!?

Ugly girl with nice voice gets to sing....and pretty girl with not as great voice takes over for ugly girl in appearance...isnt that a GOOD thing!?

What is wrong with swapping the ugly for the pretty? She was pretty good at lip synching...

What makes this a controversy!? NO ONE is hurt...and not silly human rights violation is violated or whatever...

  1. Well, unless there had been this controversy, no one would have known that the "ugly girl" was the real voice.

She CAN sing really well, why should the other girl get the credit and the stage time?

Personally, I think that this is a somewhat disturbing reminder of how superficial we are as a culture.

I don't blame the Chinese designers who came up with this idea so much, after all they basically said that they did this in order to conform to American ideas.

Anyway, I guess the main problem is that this was a blatant choice of looks over talent.

I guess this bothers some people.

Oh, and the Chinese gymnasts didn't just LOOK underage...

  2. China did too great so the American got really jealous of it... and you can see not many other countries ppl are reacted so strongly except the Americans...why?..because they know some day Chinese will kick their big ***. lets wait and see~~

  3. Because people like yourself won't stop bringing it up?

  4. YAY! 2 points!

  5. It's a show so I don't have any problem.

The Olympic symbol (five interlocked rings) represents the union of the five original major continents (Africa, America, Asia, Australia and Europe) and the meeting of the athletes from throughout the world at the Olympic Games.

  6. To upstair:  the other sining girl is not Ugly !! She is just younger!  She may not have as many acting experience as the other girl (She was in a couple of TV ad already!). But the younger singing girl is not Ugly!

  7. Well you realize that this stir was created by the USA media (sarcastic hooray!). It's the equivalent to something like if Carrie Underwood was just lipsincing some ugly girl's songs. The American media just finds very unimportant and irrelevant things to tells the public about.

  8. I don't care about the lip synching. Its the reason behind it. And i bet real girl behind the voice and her family is deeply hurt that they are literally called ugly by their own government. I feel deeply sorry for the little girl.

  9. alright

the whole thing about the olympic is peace and freedom and that kinda stuff

but CHINA made some girl lib sing because the original singer was ugly

does that seem normal to you??

China wanted to make ppl believe that chinese are pretty and **** duh

  10. You know, you are not cute enough. You should be replaced!

  11. Because the US media is h**l bent on finding flaws with the Olympic games that the Chinese have created, and proceed to turn it into some political circus.

Every single tiny flaw the Americans have found, they have proceeded to blow it out of proportion, and getting people to freak out. All the while, more people are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, but wait that's not really news worthy is it?

  12. hot?

    O_o

  13. Because the American media despises China, puts a negative spin on absolutely everything China does, never tries to understand China's culture.

The American media loves to criticize China for not having a free press, but the obvious bias of the American press in the way it skews the news and tries to influence American politics shows that your system is no better.
