  1. Water is wet because that is how we define it.

As I'm sure you know, water is one of the first things that man learned to recognize. The ancient word for "water" was probably one of the first words that humans learned to speak and understand.

And the characteristic of water, like "wet" were some of the first "scientific terms" understood -- even by cavemen.  You fall in the "water", and you get "wet" -- need warm skins!  Get "thirsty", need water.  "Deep" water is dangerous -- stay out!  "Yellow water" no taste good . . .!

I would also guess that the connection between

"water", "snow", "ice", "rain", and "fog" didn't come until much later.

The concept of "surface tension" and "molecular pressure" are very new concepts.

So water is "wet" because that's what we decided to call it.  All else being equal, it could just as well have been caled "boo-gah" and mean the same thing -- "Water is boo-gah!"

  2. More to the point... why is your mamma?

  3. Well i suppose wetness is the way the water sticks to your skin and that is caused by surface tension

  4. water is H2O so, it has H-bonds,

when water tough a surface its binds with H-bonds

H-bonds are the most powerful inter molecular force

so, its tough the surface harder,SO, ITS GET WET!

  5. Water is wet due to the polar covalent bond structure, allowing for a fluidic medium, that is non-vicous allowing for the 'wet-sensation'. Water chemical compound properties or composition varies i.e. water in some areas is 'wetter' than other water found in different areas. Hard water, i.e. water that is found in areas with limestone or granite has a more Magnesium and Calcium contents is considered to be 'less-wet' than soft water, which does not consist of harder ionic compounds such as magnesium or calcium.

  6. ITS FULL OF HORMONES :O

  7. its liquid
