I just heard on the news that the European Union refuses to impose Sanctions...WHY??!! They obviously are bullying Giorgia for a tactical pathway, etc.

What do you think is the reason they refuse?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

  1. How much would you be willing to stand up to a neighbor that stocked guns?  BIG guns?  And, if that neighbor wasn't afraid to show off those guns at every opportunity.

As long as that bully was staying out of YOUR yard, how far would you, personally, be willing to stand up for your bullied neighbor?  Would you be willing to park YOUR car in front of that bully's mailbox so he couldn't get to it?  Would you be willing to lay yourself across his driveway so he couldn't get out?

Before you criticize the EU about their lack of action, ask yourself how far you'd be willing to go.  Remember, you, personally, can call the cops.  Who is the EU going to call?

  2. Its because this was viewed as a "Peace Keeping" movement, not a conflict or a war.  The EU doesn't respond immediatley to actions that could be considered acts of war, and since Russia has pulled out of Georgia, they see no need to repremand them.

  3. Big Guns, tons of control because of it's oil reserves, X-KGB Leader still in power.  It's sad that Europeon Union are whimps.

  4. Because the EU gets a good chunk of it's oil from Russia.... it's that simple...

  5. They are using the Neville Chamberlain guide book.

  6. Because Russia has a lot of oil.

  7. Because they are soft liberals

    Sounds like in the US....

  8. I think all of EUROPE has followed Frances lead and have gotten yellow stripes down their backs.

  9. Countries like France are wimps. They are always the first to surrender.  The EU is simply scared of Russia. Period. Russia already said put any sanctions on us-we won't be wanting for anything.

  10. European Union is trying to be more democratic, once sanctions are imposed Russia will probably want to get back for the European country that took part.
