it all started when i was trying to uninstall my XM radio bc i never used it. and it got to the point where i had to partially remove my sony cd player to disassemble the wires behind it...and while i was trying to do that..a yellow wire that from the XM radio that was hanging touched the casing of the cd player and i heard it make a little spark sound...it did that 3 times before i gave up and put everything back together but when i got everything back in place the radio did not turn back on at all...and the cabin light wouldnt turn on anymore and the rear windshield wiper didnt work anymore either. its not the fuses bc i checked them all and they are all fine...i even bought a new deck today and that one doesnt work either.....please help!!!!!!! i hate driving without music lol...oh btw its a 1999 dodge durango!!!

  1. To need to have your wiring harness checked as well as your fuses. also for the  back windshield wiper, check the wiper motor and hoses.

  2. Well, it sounds like one or more fuses.  Make sure you check any that say "audio", "acc.", "12v", "cabin", "wiper", or "radio".  Also, symbols that represent any of those.  It may not be the fuse you checked previously.

Also, your radio may have (or had) an in-line fuse in its power supply.  Look for a little black plastic cylinder attached somewhere to the (probably red or black) power wire for your radio.  In that little cylinder (if there is one) will be another fuse that could have blown.  Although, it's unlikely this fuse is wired to your cabin lights.

  3. You might need to try to locate the fuse box. That spark sound you heard could have blown a fuse. Try replacing some fuses. They may look fine, but one may not be.

  4. If its not the fuses then its more than likely the wires, costly job to fix unless you get a multi-meter and someone with a bit of electrical knowledge and check to see which wire is gone

  5. you might have 2 or 3 fuse compartments  check them all or els it the wireing

  6. Sounds like a fuse.
