  1. although we berathe in these gases only oxygen is asociated with the Electron Trans[port chain wherein O2 accepts the electrons coming from NADH and FADH2 and becomes reduced to water. O2 at ground state does not have a complete octet and in fact is a diradical capable of being reduced. Nitrogen is quite inert to that reduction and CO2 is used as part of the CO2 /bicarbonate buffer system and is easily expelled at the lung level ( about 15% of tissue CO2 , coming from the Kreb's Cycle ) is bound in salt bridges in hemoglobin and the other 85% is bicarbonate in the plasma draining the tissue.

  2. All the gases are absorbed, how else do you think you get carbon monoxide poisoning etc?

  3. Hemogloblin is theer tu take in O2 & get rid av KO2.

Theer R limits...If KO in aer, yer blood sells take it in 2.

if KO (karbon-monoxide) > bout 5%, yu die.

If theer R other poison gasses in aer, yer lungs kan absorb em, & yu get sik & maby die.

80% av aer=nitrogen, wich dont reakt much so most life kant take it outta the aer.

  4. All the gases are inhaled but only oxygen is absorbed into our lungs. Other gases are exhaled again.
