  1. I think it depends on your doctor and the medicine you are on.  I took Clomid and I had to come in on CD15 for an ultrasound and was given the trigger shot then (I had 3 mature follicles) and I ovulated the next day.  For some women the trigger shot doesn't make them ovulate, so you should still be checking your BBT to make sure it happens.  Good luck to you!

  2. before they give u the trigger shot, they make sure that you have maturing follicle at least one that measures at least 18 mm (on injectibles, thats the least amount of size they need before they trigger you) or you are hyperstimulated by the injectibles (they will cancel the trigger shot for it will make the cyst ruptures because the hcg worsens the growing cyst)..after 24-36 hrs. of having the trigger shot, you will ovulate, that is time the dr. advice you to do timed intercourse or the IUI...in  my case last may, i had my trigger shot at friday at 2:30 pm..thats the memorial weekend(my RE told us to BD after 36 hrs. w/c is sunday 2:30 am) but i told my husband not to follow it..we had the first timed intercourse at saturday 2:30 am (exactly 12 hrs. after the shot) then that same day at 12 noon (22 hrs. after the shot) then that night also at 10 pm (32 hrs. after the shot) last is sunday at 12 noon (just to make sure)...my reason for not following what my doctor told me is that i read somewhere that the sperm cell should be already in the uterus before the follicle was released because if you wait the exact hour that you will ovulate before you have intercourse, remember that sperm cell need to travel from cervix to uterus and it make take a couple of hrs. remember that egg cell only lived for 12-24 hrs. unlike the sperm w/c can lived up to 3 days..so its best that the sperm is waiting in your uterus for that valuable egg...by doing that, im now 12w4d preggo when i ask my dr when did i conceive, she told me either saturday or sunday of that memorial weekend (see?)..goodluck on yours!!!

***i would like to correct the lady below me:

BBT is not accurate use of determining ovulation if you have a trigger shot..for trigger shot is a HCG-> a hormone that only found in pregnant woman, having this trigger shot, you will experience pregnancy-like symptoms like HIGH TEMP, SORE b***s, NAUSEA, DARKENING OF AREOLA, FREQUENT URINATION, that is why do not take preg test less than 12 days after the shot for it can give you false positive result...
