That 17 year old at 6 flags how did it get chopped off? What was he doing wrong? I am confused?

either he was trying to touch the roller coaster or reaching for his cap.

he somehow lost his hat and had to jump over two fences and ignore warning signs to get it.

what he did wrong was ignore the warning signs and jump the fences which are clearly there for a reason.

if he needed the hat THAT badly he could have gone to an employee or at least waited until the ride was finished (still stupid but not AS dangerous)

He climbed over 2 fences with prominent warnings on them, in order to retrieve his hat which he lost from the ride.  The roller coaster, going 50mph, hit his head.  

The moral of the story is, don't be stupid.  

People are saying he didn't "deserve" to die, and of course he didn't.  But when you do dangerous and forbidden things, you risk the consequences.  

What a tragedy.

He hopped over two fences to retreive a baseball cap that blew off his head. A roller coaster came by and wacked it off. His friend was luckier, not even a scratch.
