WHat is a good color palette for a 30th birthday party?

Hello,

I am planning my husband's 30th birthday surprise party. I can't decide on the color palette as his birthday is June 14 which is flag day and I do not want to do the typical red, white and blue. Although his favorite colors are: red, blue and black. I am thinking 2-3 colors. I do not want anything too dark as I want things lively:)

Maybe incorporate two of his favorite colors... blue and black and add silver to it.  Or just go with silver or gold and one of the other colors that he likes.  I did a casino theme for my husbands 30th and used red black and gold and it looked really good.

Red and Blue are colors that most sports teams use ... Does your husband have a favorite baseball team? ...Basketball or football? ... Not that you have to use the team logo, but you could use the Red or Blue, with black, white, silver or gold - whatever the team uses:)
