They are basically the same thing. They try to resolve mental issues with counseling. The difference is the level of training in that field. If the patient needs to be medicated then they are referred to a psychiatrist who is actually a medical doctor.

i think one of them can prescribe you medicine, and that is probably the psychologist i believe...not really sure
