  1. could be painted or blandings turtle they are both pretty common

  2. any chance of it being a Yellow Belly Slider?

  3. think its a painted

  4. does it look like this..... log on this ....its a Eastern Painted Turtle

  5. odds are its a painted.  check out austins  http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/ca...

lots of pictures and care sheets.  But, be aware if you find a water turtle on land at this time of year its because SHE is LAYING EGGS.. so dont disturb her

  6. I would guess red-eared slider turtle.

  7. it is a painted turtle. I strongly suggest you put her back. Keeping a turtle as large as that requires a HUGE tank, and lots of expensive supplies. And the budget could go well over $500! And it is just cruel to take her from her natural habitat!

  8. Yellow bellied sliders do not have black dots on their plastrons.

it could be a cooter of some sort.... depending on where you live. possibly a florida cooter

  9. If the black dots are round and only on the front of the lower shell, my vote is for Yellow-Bellied Slider. Are you in the Midwest, say from TX to MS? (North of there too) That's the range.
