WHats the big deal???

Question

Well I've been watching the olympics and stuff ever since it started in china and i heard about the chinese gymnastics and how they were underage. I was wondering why does it even matter if those girls were actually underage i mean yah younger people should be more flexible than older people but wouldn't the other gymnist who were above 16 have more experience than someone below the age of 16??
