  1. Depending on the medical certificate type, you usually get tested on:

    -height and weight

    -colour blindness

    -eyesight

    -urine sample

    -balance

    -hearing

    -basic hand eye coordination

-blood sample from finger testing for iron deficiency

    -ECG for the heart

  2. Typically, a student pilot will get their physical first before they solo, or when they obtain a student pilot license.

There are 3 classes of medical certificates:

1st- Which is required to be a captain of a scheduled airliner, or basically not an on-demand type.

2nd- Which is required to be a pilot or co-pilot of any commercial flight, like teaching other students or towing banner signs and stuff like that.

3rd- Which is required for any pilot.

You'll only need to worry about the 3rd class now, assuming you're a student.

    They will test you on:

    -EYE-

    Distant vision.

Minimum 20/40 or better in each eye separately, with or without corrective lenses, however, if uncorrected vision is not the minimum without lenses, you are required to wear them.

Near vision of 20/40 or better.

Color vision for safe performance of airman duties.

No acute or chronic pathological condition of either eye or etc that may affect safety of a flight.

    -EAR, NOSE, THROAT, AND EQUILIBRIUM-

Demonstrate to hear an average conversational voice in a quiet room with both ears from a distance of six (6) feet from the examiner, with the back turned to the examiner.

Demonstrate acceptable understanding of that speech.

    -MENTAL-

No established history or clinical diagnosis of any of the following:

    1. Personality disorder severe enough to have repeatedly manifested itself by overt acts.

    2. A psychosis.

    3. A bipolar disorder.

    4. Substance dependence, except where there is established clinical evidence, satisfactory to the Federal Air Surgeon, of recovery, including sustained total abstinence from the substance(s) for not less than the preceding 2 years.

    -NEUROLOGIC-

They didn't test me on this stuff, but I think it also has to do with history.

    -Cardiovascular-

Depends on your history. They didn't test me here either.

    -General Medical Condition-

    Good. :)
