WHich is better Camp Rock or High School Musical?

I'm doing an online survey, which do you think was better Camp Rock or HSM and why? I personally think Camp Rock, but I want other people's opinions.

I like camp rock a lot more than hsm series because it joe and demi are much better than sacharine sweet zac and vanessa couple.moreover the storyline of camp rock is much better and demi and joe are a lot  better actors when compared to zanessa. The last point is joe can sing so much better than zac efron!!!!!!!!

High School Musical. I like the Jonas Brothers and their music, but i CANNOT STAND DEMI LEVATO!!!!!!!!! I think she is an amature s**t that is trying too hard to get into show business. She reminds me of Heidi and Spencer because they always try really hard to be on camera. Personally i find it annoying.

I liked Camp Rock better. I think that she is way better actress than Vanessa Hudgens and also Joe Jonas is better actor, better singer and cuter than Zaac. The movie was very entertaining and I liked it because it was more modern. High School musical was too....musical and the dances were kind of old style for young kids. I also liked the music better. There are many good actors in Camp Rock. I am in my late 20's and I can objectively say...Camp Rock rocks!

but i was bummed that the jonas brothers werent in it as much as i thought.

i liked how the songs werent so random. (who sings at basketball practice, the cafeteria)

In my opinion Camp rock. I liked Camp Rock because it had a good story line,and was more realistic.I mean whats the chance of someone you met at a party like 3 states away moving to the same school as you? Plus, it had great music.People have different opinions though. This is to Rissa, Demi is not an immature* s**t, at least she did not pose naked like Vanessa Hudgens.

High school Musical....and what a great franchise it is!

its a great movie that started with totally undicovered talents (camp rock leads are the JO BROS -they are popular).HSM is a bigger movie with a bigger budget than camp rock!the movie tells the story of every guy and girl in High school ...

the musical numbers are totally amazing and cooler than camp rock!

PLUS , hsm has a 17.2 million viewers ...camp rock 8.2 million viewers!!!

people decided , HSM IS WAY COOLER !

Definately Camp Rock.

Camp Rock:

You would expect Mitchie to win at the end, but she didn't.

They chose great actors for the characters.

High School Musical:

camp rock definetly but it also depends on how good hsm 3 will be. I dont really like the jonas brothers so i though this movie was gonna be a waste of time but this movie was really great since they werent shown, at least not all of them, they were shown the perfect amount. joe and demi make such  cute couple too ^_^ and they both have amazing voices

Listen, for the like 10000000000000000 times, you CANT compare camp rock and hsm because the movies are way too diffrent. its like comparing grease and camp rock. get it?? there too different to be compared. I honestly was dissapointed of camp rock. i think people had such high expectation for camp rock. STOP COMPARING HSM AND CAMP ROCK MY GOODNESS!! PEOPLE DONT GET IT!!! Camp Rock was ok, but i thought it was going to be way better. and that's funny coming from me cause im a HUGE jb fan but at least im being honest. it was ok but there was things missing in the movie and i find it was short.

Im not usually a Disney channel fan,

but i suprisingly liked camp rock.

I think it is a lot more realistic than High School Musical.

&& a lot more kids can relate to it.

Camp Rock... most definitively

i loved it... i saw the commercials for it premierin june 20th

thought i was going to watch it

but unfortunately my flight was the same day

i couldnt watch it online on disney because is not available international yet

so i had to download it from youtube :)

and it was definitively worth the wait

I think Camp Rock

because first of all HMS to me seems best fit for little preschool and tweens. It is unrealistic and they smile to much. I admit the songs in the movie is good but it's a bit corny. i like camp rock because it's more realistic. it teaches kids that they don't have to lie or be somebody you not just to be popular, you have to be yourself. i like the songs in camp rock because they reflect the people singing it. people think camp rock was famous because of the jonas brothers. it's true. also people say that there was more talent in hms the camp rock. false, in both movies they were talented people so it really shouldn't be compared. i prefer down to earth movies and hms isn't it.

I say camp rock because it was an awesome movie. people say that hms was great because it discovered a lot of uncovered talent. bull. even if they do have talent, they are not good rolemodels. i know some people support v and forgive her, but she isn't somebody we should be following.

i know for a fact that joe, demi, nick, and kevin had purity rings. plus they are close to their families and have good relationships with them. they connect to their fans and do free concerts just for them.

i don't have a problem with zac, corbin, vanessa, ashley, or lucas, but they are grown adults and they might do something we won't like. it's better for joe, demi, nick, and kevin to be their rolemodels because they are closer to their age and they don't let this famous things go to their heads.

i admit, hms was a good movie, but camp rock was better because it was more real. there were tears, they was anger, everything a teenager faces. not everybody got what they want which is life.

camp rock is more of my type of movie then hms. maybe you should have people leave there ages after they repliy and do a survey.

well, kinda camp rock now because its newer and just a new thing to listen to, but HSM still gave a even bigger effect than camp rock when it came out, so HSM is better, but camp rock is really good, its just that its newer so people kinda forgot about how good HSM was, because now we are kinda sick of HSM since its old.

Camp Rock.

In High School Musical, they didn't even make it to the actual musical. The whole movie was just about the callbacks. Personally, I saw nothing great about the movie.

Camp Rock pretty much has the same plot as High School Musical. Girl lies about who she is, mean girl exposes her and tries to not get her to compete, boy and girl fight, boy and girl fall in love and sing a song together, mean girl is nice(r).  Tess was like the Sharpay of Camp Rock, Shane the Troy, Mitchie the Gabriella. Although, it kind of copies off of High School Musical, the presentation of the movie was much better. The actors weren't that great though, which was a bit disappointing. The story line was a lot better. Camp Rock itself, was just better.

I love both. One of the major differences between the two is that HSM is not very realistic. Like it was oozing in overly cute Disney-ish themes. like high school is not that like and its definitely not that accepting but the movies demographic isnt high school teens (although alot of them love it still). Camp Rock is much more realistic. I read somewhere that it doesnt have a good message because Mitchie didnt willingly admit her lie, she was forced into it. But I thought the lie was totally realistic and it was handle a realistic way. like sometimes your gonna be in a confrontation...so what? doesnt mean your immoral and a bad person. but ya i reeally really like both. i could rewatch them a million times.

High School Musical. Even though the voices in camp rock were better trained and sounded better, the plot of high school musical was good. And the songs in HSM related to something in the movie, like the song at the beginning of CR with the girl w/ big hair was pointless. And camp rock was actually really boring. I know the songs were good but its a movie, its supposed to keep you entertained.

P.S. oh yeah and I disliked the fact that they barely showed the supporting actors, I didn't even know what Kevin Jonas' and that chinese girl from Hannah Montana's characters names were until the credits.

Camp Rock is better because it doesn't just randomly breakout in to song and dance. It has people performing on a stage or sing for people. its all about the music. yeah people like the Jonas Brothers and Demi but they don't just say somthing ans all of a sudden BAM song and dance. High School Musical was great in the beginning but now its kinda boring. like i said before Joe doesn't say "Can't  a guy get some privacy here" then he starts singing. the first HSM was okay because of the fact that they were audtioning for a play but now it is annoying. yeah but there is my opinion.

no offense to you camp rock fans but it did not live up to all of the hype that Disney gave it. it was okay but that is just it. The movie didn't end well the ending was sucky and the drama was not there either was the chemistry. The actors  (including the Jobros ) need to work more with an acting coach. More realistic then HSM maybe but bad acting bad plot  and only okay singing sucky songs Demi Levato's song this is real or what ever played in the back ground to much . the writers could have put more of a twist on it . i only watched it to see what the big secret was her mom was the cook big freakin whoopie no one would get mad even if she did lie they would have forgiven her instanly. on a scale of 1-5 i give this movie a 1 1/2.

CAMP ROCK ALL THE WAY!!!! For this movie i liked the songs and the plot more. and hsm and camp rock plots are way different (100%)  hsm is about two people who magically end up going to the same school and want be in a musical but dont think that people or their friends would accept them if they do. Camp rock (awesome movie) is about a girl who goes to a music summer camp with her mom and lies about herself to fit in and changes a jerk pop star back to the real person he used to be. and shane is trying to find the girl with the voice and tess was trying to get her moms attention. and just to let you know  tess didnt steal mitchies song book she was just looking at it to see if mitchie was the girl with the voice because remember she sang that song to tess, peggy and ella when they asked mitchie to sing. so you can see the plots are so different. the only thing thats the same is they sing in both movies. first i lovee Camp rock, now i like HSM second but not as much as i used too and HSM 2 was horrible to me because it was all about their future what kid or teen or anybody wants to watch a movie that is about someone worrying about their future hopefully the third movie isnt like that. and they didnt even make camp rock a big deal like HSM 2 and thats what people are saying even though all they said was that the jonas brothers where going to be in it, but hsm 2 they went all out for it and made road to hsm 2, you've never seen Road to Camp Rock have you?

Camp rock- awesome movie loved it. more realistic to me. way better songs that you would listen to everyday. and a great message from the movie. loved the actors joe, demi, nick, kevin(he was so funny going on about that birdhouse! lol) the camp director/founder (Shanes uncle or Brown whatever you want to call him) lovee the part when he says "i hate when i have to be uncool!" and the rest of the cast was awesome too!

Umm, I would have to say.. Camp Rock.  

I thought the plot was sweet and some of the music was much more.. enjoyable..

Like how at first a song was all shy and then all of a sudden it becomes strong..

I like that kind of visibly-gained courage.. >:D

But.. Camp Rock was.. kind of strange.. I couldn't figure out the main problem of the movie-- was it.. finding "the girl with the voice", "to be less of a jerk", "to be noticed by your busy mom" or "finding a place to fit in", etc..

Um.. but High School Musical, in my opinion, had better acting;;  

-The expressions in HSM were much more realistic and the reasons of WHY they did a certain something was much more easy to understand and comprehend.

As for Camp Rock..;

-I don't feel like the Jonas Brothers can act-- at least not well.  I like their music and all, just not their acting.  

-Um.. and Demi.. she SOMETIMES acted realistically but most of the time it looked.. too scripted and forced.

Oh, and Camp Rock DID kind of remind me of High School Musical.. >.< ;;

AND, Camp Rock was kind of stereotypical and cliche (is that the right word?)..

The "evil stepsister" who is, -not surprising-, blonde, pretty, rich, and a brat who tries to sabotage everyone..

Not to mention, the poor-ish girl and the famous, rich guy falling in love..

Kind of like a Prince and peasant falling in love-- a fairytale or manga/anime kind of thing.

..But..I guess it's those kinds of things that makes this movie so sweet.

Reminds me of shoujo manga--

I read it and expect these kinds of things to happen..

What more would I want? xD

i like it because it had lots of realistic parts in it and lots were getting tired of the mean girl so they stood up to her and it turns out there was a reason behind her mean. shane really had a soft heart inside him after he met someone who covered up his weak spots, mitchie. mitchie lied about something which she suffered until final jam, she realized that music is who you are, not what you have , and that teaches others too. i liked it also because everyone had their own beats in it and how lots found mitchie unique. the movie made alot more sense then high school musical and i have to say that camp ROCKS!

I agree with Beekay

Camp Rock is an overhyped movie and is not and will never be on the same calibur as high school musical.  The acting was decent and the kids looked very young besides Joe and demi.  The plot was not as good as high school musical and there was not as much magic between Demi and joe as in Zac and Vanessa.  Because Joe is like 18 and demi is 15, they weren't allowed to show them kissing or being over affectionate which really hurt the movie.  There was no chemistry because of the age difference and the Jonas Brothers inclusion in this film was unnesessary.  All they did was overshadow Demi levato which sort of put a damper on the story.

The beginning was REALLY GOOD but after that it went downhill.  They hyped up the movie beyond belief and even had a lot of potential but they just seemed to have lost that disney magic.

High School musical was realistic and was a way better movie than Camp Rock will ever be.

camp rock was pretty much the same plot as it. HSM was the first real hit, and you can't follow that. I kinda expected more from camp rock, i don't know, it was way too predictable because it was like HSM. the only reason i watched it was because of the JB, which i'll bet you was the main reason other people watched (mostly teen girls) it as well.

Camp Rock. It was at least semi-realistic, like, people weren't just randomly breaking into song and dance, and if they were, it fit. It had a good story with lots of twists and turns that kept it exciting. There weren't too many characters to confuse you, and the concept of a summer camp that's entirely dedicated to music is awesome! (Especially with Demi Lovato...so hot.)

Camp Rock in my opinion. The songs were much better and as a few people said it was a little bit more realistic. Also to be honest I thought the acting was a little bit better. Even though I think Vanessa Hudgens is very attractive I have to admit her acting is pretty darn bad. Also I liked the story better in Camp Rock. Just seemed more reasonable and not as cliche as "popular kid wants to date dorky girl and has a secret that he wants to admit but is afraid to do both.". I just believe Camp Rock was a lot easier to relate to and seems like the cast put more heart into then what was put into HSM. Although Camp Rock was almost a complete mix of Mean Girls,Raise Your Voice,and HSM. Not complaining about it really, just stating my opinion. But all together I really really liked Camp Rock and got into more then I did HSM.

Keep In Mind That This Is My Personal Opinion. If Anyone Is Offended, Not My Problem.

I like HSM more. I found CR to be a total bore.

The plot holes really bugged me ( What was the point of Tess stealing the journal?) and it was unrealistic (I usually wouldn't list unrealistic as a reason because IT'S A DISNEY MOVIE, but I saw others doing it so why not?).

I read a couple comments before answering and some were ridiculous. Sorry for putting some people on the spot but:

As for relating to the movie, you can make arguments for both. Cliques and acceptance are common themes. Plot is generally the same: popular guy likes shy girl, they end up together after some hardship. It's just how it was portrayed that sets the difference.

I honestly believe that CR only did as well as it did BECAUSE OF the Jonas Brothers. Without them, it would be a total flop. Just read some of the comments. Their only reason for watching and liking the movie were the Jonas Brothers.

Well that's a tough question because High School Musical 3 has not come out yet. And, Camp Rock has and it was voted to be better than High School Musical 3. I say it would really depend on what HSM 3 has to offer to us because then we can decide which is better. But for now I would go for Camp Rock. But when HSM 3 comes out and you post another question about it I will definitely answer you and tell you which is the best. But for now Good Luck!

Honestly Highschool musical was wayy more put together and it looks like the worked harder on it.

I think highschool musical was ALOT better. i mean dont get me wrong camp rock was ok..but they had alot of editing problems and the acting wasnt the greatest AND the songs werent that catchy. I did like the song though that joe sang to demi by the lake or what not but nick and kevin needed to be in it more also. Highschool musical had alot better actors and a better story line.

I love the jonas brothers though and there music

but i just thought the movie was going to be better than it was.

okay so i'm 23 and love the disney channel! Anyways I liked the songs in Camp Rock, but i'll tell you why I thought HSM was better by far.  

First of all, all the songs on Camp Rock didnt match the singers lips (it was slightly off but enough for me to notice and get annoyed by) and the songs sounded like they were radio version.  HSM sounded more natural and looked better when they sang.

Second during the part where one of the Jonas brothers (joe right?) was dancing or teaching the dance class I couldnt help but bust out laughing at his skin tight pants and all of their bad dance moves.  Though I think Joe is adorable and the girl who played mitchie was beautiful... I couldnt get over how cheesy they looked.

Lastly when Mitchie sang in front of everyone for the talent show I got really annoyed even though I love the song... she just moved around WAY to much.... and her lips didnt match the words (again it was barely off but enough to annoy me).

Anyways camp rock was cute but as far as better than hsm? not in the least.... hsm made history in the most watched category for a reason.  And though Joe may be cute.... Zac is just in a league of his own and that's why he's now the star in all these legendary movies like Hairspray (that my kids will be watching one day like 30 years from now) and so forth:)
