  1. Is that an essay question asked by one of your teachers?  If so, oh my.

Saw is no epic.  An epic is something like The Iliad or The Odyssey, with heros and journeys and obstacles.  For an epic, the journey is the most important part (no journey, no epic).  The journey can be literal, as in the modern epic The Lord of the Rings, where they travel to complete an important task, or figurative, like in many books and films where the main character learns something important about himself or the world by the end of the story (the journey is one of self discovery in this case).

Saw has no hero and no journey, so it is not an epic.  It is a guilty pleasure of a film to some, and needless torture p**n to others.

  2. Because they never stop making the stupid thing!

  3. "WHy is SAW(the movie) considered to be a modern epic?"

    Hello,

Why? Because the majority of Americans today wouldn't know a true epic if they "Saw" one... Sad, but true. That answers all your questions @once.
