WICB will only consider Chris Gayle if he withdraws criticism – Cricket News Update
Estranged Caribbean cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board (WICB) – that Gayle should withdraw his criticism against the Board, which he stated
earlier this year.
The decision was initially made in August, this year, during a meeting between Gayle and WICB Chief, Ernest Hilaire; a rendezvous which finally ended with some positive outcome compared to the previous, lingering conflict between the two parties.
It was also learnt that the Jamaican all-rounder will be appointed a facilitator who will assist Gayle in fulfilling with the Board’s requirements.
For the matter, the WICB director, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clive-Hubert-Lloyd-c51327 also comprehended that the conflict has now been dragged on for long, and it is about time that it should be put to an end on a positive note.
The former West Indian cricketer also stated that the team will require the services of Gayle, as one of the effective and senior players in the Caribbean region.
“First of all it is disappointing that the matter has gone on for as long as it has,” http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 said in the board statement. “What we need now is closure and, to be fair, anyone of whom those comments were made would have a right to take umbrage”.
“Withdrawing the comments would be the intelligent thing to do to get the issue resolved and have everyone move on. We need senior players to be in the setup to drive the progress forward and any team would love to entertain Gayle, but under the right circumstances,”
he added.
Gayle-WICB conflict sparked off when the all-rounder made an unexpected exit from his team during last World Cup’s quarter final.
The act enraged the Caribbean national side’s Coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ottis-Delroy-Gibson-c80358 – but the issue took more hype after Gayle opted to participate for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) season and kept himself unavailable for national
duty, when West Indies were to face the Pakistani tourists in a home series.
As a result the Board decided to axe Gayle from the team’s following assignments including, a home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
However, Gayle has already made a comeback on the Caribbean cricket circle, after having a chance to Captain his domestic side, Jamaica, in the regional Super50 competition.
