  1. It depends on whether you really mean "commercial pilot," or you actually mean "airline pilot."  (People often are not aware that there is a difference.)

You can easily secure your Commercial Airman Certificate in the US in less than a year, provided you have the money and you can dedicate your time and energy solely to that goal.

It is probably not possible to qualify for a job as an airline pilot in one year.  The minimum is more like five (5) years to secure the required 2,000 hours or so and pass the ATP certificate.

    Good luck!

  2. It depends how much you are willing to pay, and how much time you can dedicate to training.

There are a number of schools that offer zero hours to commercial pilot in as little as 4 months... but this involves an 8 hour training day, 6 days a week... and perfect weather, which rarely happens!

These schools also offer your first pilot job, working as a paid instructor for the same school... during which time, you build up your hours to the number of hours required by the airlines... usually an absolute minumum of 1000 hours.

Working everyday, you can expect to get your 1000 hours in 12 to 18 months.

So... I short, YES you can get your commercial license (with instructor ratings) well inside of 12 months... however your first airline job would be at least 18 months away from when you start training... and that's assuming you dedicate every hour of every day to it.

    Good luck!

  3. I doubt that you could log enough hrs in 1 year , AFTER . getting your private pilots license to become a commercial pilot

  4. Considering you can get your private though commercial in as little as two months depending on how much you fly.  If you got charter job right away after school you could build the hours and get your ATP.  It would be a little tough, but it has been done.
