  1. Farmers

  2. yes, it is basic common sense.  Look at the prices of the same food in stores, you will see different prices.  It's called the free market.  We live in a time where personal gain is regarded as greater than the public or society's needs, as evidenced by the profits from the major oil companies whose actions drive up the costs of the food.  Others speculate on commodities and futures.  Sadly it is profit before honor.

  3. Every one selling food is making a profit, other wise they wouldnt be selling would they?

So who is making a loss? You and I !!!

  4. Who can tell?  We customers have no option but to trust them, tho it does seem odd to me  that nearly ALL food has gone up at the same time!

Why is it ALWAYS the customers who has to bear the brunt of price rises?

  5. Of course profits are being earned. If they weren't there would be no food in the stores. What is wrong with profits? They are the returns owners receive for risking their money so that you and I can eat. You probably think the recent increase in food prices is going to profits. This is not the case and if you had done your research you would know it is caused by corn prices rising do to ethanol production adding extra demand to corn. The rising price of corn puts extra costs into many products. Also gasoline at $4.35 a gallon. How do you think the food gets from the farm to the store. Magic? I am an evil capitalist, and I would never invest in a grocery store. There is no profit there. You guys are extremely ignorant to the real situation at hand. You guys need a does of reality. You know what would happen tomorrow if profits were outlawed. The gas station would give you a big middle finger, so would your local supermarket so would every one else. And you would have no job!
