Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus help Minnesota Lynx get past Los Angeles Sparks while Tina Charles help ensure a win for Connecticut Sun against Washington Mystics
There were a total of two games played out in the WNBA on Tuesday night i.e. 4th September.
The Minnesota Lynx recorded a home win against the Los Angeles Sparks courtesy of an impressive showing by Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus while Connecticut Sun held off a late charge from the Washington Mystics on their way to
a 7 point victory.
Let’s take an overview of the proceedings from Tuesday night.

1.      Minnesota Lynx versus Los Angeles Sparks

Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus combined to shoot the ball 16 of 34 from the field on their way to 23 points each as they helped Minnesota Lynx defeat the Los Angeles Sparks by a score line of 88-77.
The win for Minnesota was their ninth consecutive and could not have come at a more right time as they moved three games ahead of LA and now just need 4 victories out of possible 8 in order to secure the No.1 seed in the Western
Conference.
While Minnesota – WNBA’s defending champions - seem to be firing on all cylinders as the playoff draw nearer, the Sparks have now lost their third straight game. Not only did the team struggle to find their rhythm, so did their
star players as Candace Parker and Kristi Toliver combined for only 11 points in the game. Alana Beard offered the resistance with 17 points while Jenna O’Hea chipped in with 15 off the bench.

2.      Connecticut Sun versus Washington Mystics

In the second matchup of Tuesday night, despite getting off to a slow start, Tina Charles managed to notch up a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds as she made the final field goal of the game to help Connecticut Sun get
past Washington Mystics 77-70.
While Charles did her damage on the inside, Kara Lawson provided equal support from distance by racking up 16 points. She was lent a helping hand by Mistie Mims who played well for her 15 points and 7 rebounds.
On the other hand, Crystal Langhorne carried the Washington scoring with 23 points and 9 rebounds while Noelle Quinn could only manage to chip in with 10 points in the game.
