A total of two games were played in the WNBA on Wednesday night i.e. 5th September with Atlanta Dream recording a comeback win over Indiana Fever while New York Liberty continued their pursuit of a playoff berth as they
cruised past the dismal Phoenix Mercury.
Let’s round up the proceedings of the day.
1. Atlanta Dream versus Indiana Fever
In the first matchup on Wednesday night, after trailing for the first three quarters, Atlanta Dream courtesy of Lindsey Harding’s impressive showing in the final period turned a 4 point deficit into a 71-64 victory over Indiana
Fever.
Harding, who shot the ball 7 off 15 from the field in the game, notched up 12 of her total 20 points in the final quarter to help Atlanta in their cause. Angel McCoughtry, playing only in her second game back after suspension,
played well with 15 points while Sancho Lyttle also had an impressive showing as she finished the night with double-double figures of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
From the other side, Katie Douglas made 5 three pointers as she racked up 23 points. But as she struggled to find her range in the closing stages, so did the Indiana team, who could not hold on to their advantage in the final quarter.
Tamika Catchings also played well for her 13 points and 9 rebounds.

From the other end, DeWanna Bonner provided resistance with 20 points while Alexis Hornbuckle and Diana Taurasi contributed 10 points each. But their efforts were of no use as whole Phoenix team struggled to find their rhythm throughout
the night and only shot the ball 24.6% from the field.
