Which would you suggest for a re-enlisting prior service 11b who has recently become a father at 22 and still has a lust for an exciting yet stressful demanding job and the need to help.... i only put Mental Health specialist down because it is the only MOS that i am willing to take if i plan to get some college in later but i dont want a slow paced job... i already understand the needs of the family and my daughter so dont need advice on parenting or what will benefit other peoples needs... I need straight honest answers about which would be the most intelligent choice regarding my needs... I have met people in each MOS but never asked about what they have gained from what they do I am currently in California now and only means of communicating with them is on myspace or writing letters and thats to much of a hastle.... will do when have time... I just want to get opinions... I miss the stress and long hours in the field when i was 11b but now that i have a daughter i definetly feel the grass is greener but I dont want to limit myself to a desk job... and I DONT NEED THE FIND A JOB WITH A SKILL LECTURE...I will get my college in no matter what MOS i go through....Get at me as soon as possible people... thank you all answers are welcome but i prefer what i have stated.......

  1. well what do you want to do?

don't hae these strangers tell you what to do

i enlisted as a 68W cuz i want to go into medicine, and im passionate about it.

do you have reasons like that?

  2. 13F-forward observer. Right back in the platoon with 11b but a different skill set. Plus as a prior 11b you already have the manuever part down and would help you with mission planning with the LT and help you integrate that much better.

  3. I get the impression that you do not want to get bogged down in a job where you just go through the motions and pretty much do the same thing day after day.

If that is the case, I suspect that of the jobs that you listed, the one that is most likely to keep you busy on diverse worthwhile pursuits without long periods of boredom or paper work would be combat engineer.

Also, if the next president of this country once again starts dismantling the military, you will still have lots to do.

Since this will represent a significant part of your life, you really need to talk to folks who have those jobs before you make your decision.

Yes, it may be a bit of a hassle to do at this time, but, which is worse, a bit of a hassle now or, getting stuck for several years in a job that you hate?
