  1. Yes, many different species of tetras will school together. It all really depends on the fish and how they were introduced. Sometimes they will exclude each other, but they can also be quite willing to have another fish in the school. It is easier for them to school if they were all introduced at the same time. If you had for example, 4 tetras together and then put in two more months later, there is a good chance they won't accept the other fish. Sometimes even different types of fish will school with tetras. Danios and minnows are good examples.

Good luck! Please email me or post more details for more questions.

  2. it depend sometimes they will sometimes they wont , it depends on how the fish are feeling and if they are sociable , no fish acts the same

  3. ya i am guessing

  4. its very common. tetras(and fish like them) have cues to school. for instance i have 3 blood fin tetras and 6 white cloud mountain minnow (not even a tetra) and they all school together. i would just watch them, and if they school, great, if not, its no biggie

  5. Some will but not all.  They prefer their own species, but individuals will probably swim with another type that has a school simply for safety and security.
