The Sun out of the United Kingdom is reporting that Mick Foley has informed one of his close friends that he will be heading to TNA. Apparently, Mick is so adamant about going, he is willing to return to the ring to work a limited schedule comparable to Sting. His friend told The Sun that Mick will do anything to further his legacy and help put TNA on the map.

  1. Well we knew it was going to come down to this sooner or later. See Vince McMahon is about one thing at this point in his life.... cementing his efforts. He is a MAJOR part of pop culture and sports entertainment would not exists in its form of a money making machine that we know as wrestling. To be blunt, if not for his efforts, wrestling would still be a regional event that was full of wannabes and guys that wrestle on the side (while working regular jobs). He wants to ensure that the wrestlers are considered athletes and professionals. (which sadly, most of the old schoolers like Mick Foley does not represent. )

That said, there is not a lot of room in the WWE for people that have mind states similar to Michael Hayes. The yester years of wrestling are dead and gone. No one is willing to watch people throw punches and excute isolation moves for 10 minutes. Now a days, there has to be more impact, more charisma, more excitement to keep viewers attention. Its sad to say this, but most of the legends we hold dear at this point in wrestling are from the old school and were trained in this method. (and that does not make money as it once did.)

But thats ok.... it gives room for organization such as TNA and ROH to coexists. (And that my friends is where the source of opportunity lies.)

Think about this for what it is.... WWE's loss its TNA's gain. Now if someone could just get TNA to see that they have a golden opportunity to do what the WCW could not do.... remain established in the industry as a worthy competitor. (all they have to do is use the skilled wrestling talent they have and get rid of those losers that are souring the sport .... like Mike Tenay and Jim Cornette).
