My maid/nanny lady (whatever) lives downstairs where the laundry room is and the water backed up down there and it was coming out of the shower too so she used this really nasty smelling industrial drain cleaner down there. I could smell it like it was right in my face. It's better now but I didn't know what it was until she came up and told me (I would have gone outside!). The whole time my baby was kicking up a storm and now I feel bad. Could inhaling that c**p be bad since I'm pregnant? It's not like I was huffing it but oh boy could I smell it. Do you think I'm alright?

  1. I think you will be fine. The danger has more to do with prolonged exposure, not just a few minutes I would assume.

  2. I think your baby is fine but check with your dr to be sure.

  3. Check with a dr to be sure, make sure you find out exactly what cleaner she used, but you should be okay

  4. Normal household cleaners i wouldn't be too bothered with to be honest, but industrial? I would go to the doctor, just to be on the safe side!  Good luck huni    xx

  5. I think you and your baby should be okay. I do think you should let your OBGYN know your around the smell and make sure to let your doctor know how long you were around the cleaner. Read the back of the bottle it should tell you if it should be used in a well ventalated (SP?) room..
