WOW shadow priests no longer good?

I was thinking of making a shadow priest ive tryed almost every other class and they all suck so i thought ide give SP a try. But i keep hearing that ever since a patch and the release of TBC that they suck now. I just started wow so i wouldn't know. Is this true?

Yes, it really is.  

The   only reason to go shadow priest is to get the better dps while you are leveling then go holy after you hit 70.

Generally youll find most people think hunters and warlocks are overpowered, and priest are the weakest. Even their healing can be rivaled by a druid.
