WPBSA announces sale of 2013 World Snooker Championship tickets – Snooker Update
Last season, the 2012 World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre became one of the most watched snooker events as snooker lovers gathered there coming from every corner of the map to cheer up their favourite potters.
The snooker governing body, World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) stated that they had the most number of ticket sales last year which shows that the people are starting to love the game with the passage of time.
Snooker is becoming a popular sport around the world now which attracts thousands of fans. The World Snooker Championship is the most prestigious event which is equally famous in all parts of the world. This year as well, the WPBSA is hoping for another
record sale of their tickets along with the expectations of thrilling encounters at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
While speaking to the local media, World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said, “For anyone who loves our sport, a trip to the Crucible to watch the World Championship is the ultimate snooker experience. The intensity of the atmosphere just couldn't be replicated
anywhere else which is why I have already said that I'd be happy to keep the event in Sheffield until the day I die.”
He added, “The tournament is steeped in history and prestige and it means more to the players than anything else.”
Hearn also commented that during their last year ticket sale campaign, they set a new record for sales and he is intending to break that record again. The 2013 World Snooker Championship is definitely going to be an interesting tournament because many new
faces are emerging on the surface as champions. The potters have shown great determination during their season campaign so far. Many new players are putting in tremendous efforts during the tournaments and showing their class.
If they continue their tremendous performance in the upcoming major ranking snooker events, they are surely going to challenge the likes of John Higgins, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby, Mark Williams and Shaun Murphy a real tough time. The snooker lovers
from around the world are also waiting for the most watched event of snooker.
