WR Jordan Shipley signs for Jacksonville Jaguars to replace waived Will Ta'ufo'ou on roster – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have introduced a rare and surprise change to offensive line bringing another receiver while they already have half a dozen studded in the line.
As per details the team has signed wide receiver Jordan Shipley but did give a rationale of their move. Neither of the stakeholders has disclosed terms of Shipley’s contract, and this includes value and tenure.
To accommodate the new signee on the roster the team has confirmed waiver of fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou.
Some information emerging around the move is that the waived player might return to practice squad of the team in a day or two.
Meanwhile, some commentators have questioned credibility of the Jags’ move to add another receiver to the line, which has WRs Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts III on the starting line, and Kevin Elliott and Micheal Spurlock at backup.
The move comes on the heels of an impressive performance by Blackmon in the game against the Houston Texans last week when he almost took the side to a win. He along with Texans’ receiver Andre Johnson set a record of the league by reaching over 200 yards
by two players in a single game.
Blackmon has been rated to be the most talented player in the Jags and it was for the first time he exploded up to his potential. He showed his true colours for the first time, and probably much more is yet to come from him.
The new signee Shipley has played 18 games after his selection as a third-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. He has also played a game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being waved in September.
He is the latest addition of the team, who struggling on their end in search of second win. A day earlier, they confirmed Chad Henne as the new offence leader from next game. Apparently, transition from Blaine Gabbert to Henne is a strategic move but its
timing is the injury scare of quarterback Blaine. He had replaced him in the last game for three quarters and performed rather well, which has now won him a place as the offence leader.
