WR Kenny Britt off PUP list, Tennessee Titans’ coach Mike Munchak awaits his NFL fate – NFL News
Tennessee Titans’ coach Mike Munchak has confirmed activation of troubled wide receiver Kenny Britt to their roster after a lengthy absence with a knee injury but since the player is a subject to a pending decision from the National Football League (NFL)
over his recent arrest the coach expressed frustration over the expected delay.
Britt was arrested on driving under the influence (DUI) charge last month, which happened to be his eighth violation of disciplinary rules since selection in the 2009 draft, and while he has cleared the team’s physical to stage return, a decision from the
NFL to punish him over the latest off-field issue can delay his rejoining of the squad.
The receiver had a meeting with the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after the incident but a final decision on the matter is awaited.
Coach Mike is not happy at all over the delay the league has shown in announcing its verdict, either letting the player go unpunished or take him to the task, which should determine his availability for the selection in the squad then.
Munchak said:
"It's aggravating I guess that you don't know all the pieces, and it changes so much with injuries one week to the next also. I think this will all come together here real soon. As you know, the final roster comes together on Friday and Saturday. That will
be a busy weekend just kind of piecing it all back together. By then, we'll have a lot of answers to the questions we've been wondering about."
He earlier in his weekly local radio show said that the player had been removed from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after passing physical. The coach did not elaborate if they were going to include Britt in their last preseason game against
the New Orleans Saints, which appears to be a very difficult chance given the player is not sure what fate awaits him in the NFL’s decision.
Britt’s regular season opener and even more games of the phase, which starts next month, might be on the line if he is suspended for a few games as a punishment over the violation.
