WR Wes Welker dismisses stories about problems with New England Patriots - NFL News
If stories about wide receiver, Wes Welker in media circles on Friday are to be believed it would seem that the New England Patriots are not too happy with their star player.
Welker in the offseason has given multiple interviews to news media and has talked freely about his contract negotiations and how he feels after being slapped with a franchise tag earlier in the offseason.
This has irked the Patriots who are known to keep their players on a tight leash regarding their media engagements.
The Patriots unhappiness with Welker was revealed when the Boston Globe reported through its sources that Welker’s recent interviews are not being taken too kindly by the franchise.
The wide receiver though took to Twitter to tell his legions of followers that all such reports are untrue and the media is just making up stories.
"Don't believe the hype. Everyone wants to make a story. Control what u can control and move on."

The 31-year-old had on Tuesday signed his $ 9.5 million franchise tender to allow him to participate in the Patriots Organised Team Activities (OTAs) which he did not want to miss out on.
However, on Thursday the wide receiver in an interview with the Boston Herald
had stated that after signing the tender negotiations over a new long term deal with the Patriots had gotten even worse.
“There have been talks, but nothing that’s brightened anything at all. It’s actually gotten worse.”
His contract saga has dragged on throughout the offseason with negotiations seemingly stalled over the compensation he will get from the new deal.
After signing his tender, Welker and the Patriots have till July 16th to iron out a new deal which will keep the player at the franchise beyond 2013.
Failing that though, the wide receiver will play on his one year tender and receive $ 9.5 million for the season while becoming a free agent in the next offseason.
More developments over Welker’s contract saga are expected in the coming days and there is still time for both sides to negotiate a new deal.
