WRX, 337 GTI, Honda Fit, or MINI Cooper S?

Question

I am a college freshmen. I dont have unlimited fund. I currently drive a 2000 bmw 3 series, but the parts, and gas mileage are killing me. another aspect I am not a fan of is that it is auto.

I want a car that is fun to drive, VERY fuel efficient, but still able to handle the Chicago winters.

Please give me a detailed reason for which car you suggest would be better. Thanks alot.

I agree with YUTO,

the fit will save you the most on gas, but will be boring and you'll have to pay to much to get one, with the demand on them.

dont get the gti

the mini will be the most fun to drive, probably the most fun of any car you have every driven

the subie will be the best in the snow by far

If it were me I would go with the subie, they are also very fun to drive, they corner like a $60k sports car, the gas milage is ok, and they are very good in the snow once you take off the sport tires they come with, on top of that they are easy to get and you wont have to pay to much for one. I have an 06' wrx, love it, only complaint is that the syncro on the shifter is a little slow, but its not the end of the world, great car.

Go with the Fit Sport...great on gas, plenty of room, honda reliability and strong resale value...

I know it's not one of the choices but:

2008/2009 Honda Civic SI Sedan.

- it's fun

- it's 4 doors

- gas mileage is great

- handles really well

- 6 speed

- it's fast

- price is around 20,000.

I have the 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan.  If you're into modding it, you can put on some bolt-ons to make more power.  In the winter, just get snow tires.  

My fiance had VW's and they were very unreliable.  Lot of mechanical and electrical issues.  Mini Cooper S is very nice, but the cargo size is limited to transport your college stuff back and forth.  WRX is expensive and gas mileage is not as great.  Honda FIT is good on gas and price, but lacks the fun factor.
