O.k. This year im going to be a freshman on the freshman football team. My coach said to lift at the weight room. So i have been doing that so far this summer. Just 3 days a week also. I am 5'8 120. I am skinny but fast . I ran a 4.89 on the 40 in the begining of June. But ever since i started to lift, my best time currently is 5.16. Should I stop lifting. I have been conditioning and lifting. But im getting slower. I gained only like 4-5 pounds too. Also im a WR and CB so I gotta be fast

  1. hmmm seems like your plaining on quiting ??! jk i dont know

  2. At a certain point, too much muscle on your legs weighs you down. You should stop lifting, work on some sprinting techniques, cutting, chopping his key, and do a lot of sprinting. It will build your endurance and should get your 40 time up. Nothing matters until your in pads tho.

  3. it has nothing to do with the lifting.

lifting is a good thing for raw speed.

focus on knee lift and arm speed.

    im 4.65 in the 40

my fnd ted has no lifting experience but he runs a 4.36

    hes amazing. its just natural.

a decent cb or wr has to be sub 4.6 at least.
