WTF is up with our economy?

Gas prices are up, the number of jobless and homeless are overwhelming... What is causing our economy to be in the pooper?

Well I hope I don't lose my job over this economy stuff, thats probably why i havent been hired permanent at my place yet. I have to wait another 2 months to find out if they're keeping me or giving me the boot....  its not just our company but other ones in different cities are cutting back on employees too. *sigh* i better keep working promotions then, just in case!

and to answer your question, i dont know what's up with it, i hear its because people are holding onto their money and not going out spending it like usual. I know when i get my second check in the mail (the $600 or whatever) im using it for my student loan!!! not for gas or shoppin at the mall

it is not as bad as the liberal media wants you to believe, we are not even in a  recession.

1. Gas prices are up because hurricane katrina had destroyed several oil refineries; terrorists are attacking oil rigs in Nigeria and taking workers hostage; the price of refining crude oil into gasoline has increased; and the Saudi family decided to allow oil to stay at $120 dollars a barrel.

2.  Because of the irresponsible loans officers and irresponsible loan applicants the USA has a sub-prime loan scandal which has reverberated throughout the financial world: banks, mortgages; loan institutes; and the stock market.  This sub-prime loan fiasco had nothing to do with the federal government or with President Bush, but the federal government is trying to fix the problem and stave off a serious recession.

3. Actually the number of applicants who have filed for unemployment benefits has dropped.

4. The numbers of homeless in the USA has remained about the same over the past ten years.

The USA is currently on a wartime footing if you've forgotten 9-11 which is why we are in Afghanistan and Iraq.  And any wartime economy has its ups and downs.

The Democrats are in control of Congress, isn't the reason obvious?  When Republicans ruled the Congress, it was boomtimes. When the Democrats took over, everything went down the tubes.

the republicans always do this to us.  the media only know what they are told, and this administration seems to lie like helll.  what drugs are you on if you don't think we are in a recession?  we are closer to a depression than you think.
