  1. his crown is slipping

  2. yeah..he won one tournament though this year

  3. Roger Federer is the best in tennis along with Rafael Nadal. So everyone can just shut up about these two great champions.

  4. rammstein's right. its not normal to go from dominating completely (against the same top ten players that are there today), to suddenly losing it.

I agree with others who said he will be back and silence the critics. Can't wait for that to happen.

  5. I don't know, but something is most definitely wrong. You don't go from dominating the tour for four years to barely winning matches over the space a few weeks if nothing really is wrong. I'm not sure whether its a physical issue or if he's just starting to get a little burned out mentally. Hopefully he'll get things back on track in time for Wimbledon, but it is looking a little worrying. Again, the notion that the competition is "catching up" is absurd. Only two of his losses this year have been at the hands of Nadal or Djokovic (who he also managed to beat by the way). The other four were against such steady "rivals" as Roddick, Murray, Stepanek, and Fish. So clearly that's not the issue here.

Roddick.- Went into the match having won only one of 16 matches against Roger. The fact that Federer choked it up at the end makes it even weirder.

Murray.- He's got great potential but has not yet lived up to it, so yes it was a big surprise. He may have beaten Federer before but no one expected him to repeat the performance.

Stepanek.- Say what you will, it was a very bad loss... and Radek's not even a clay specialist.

Fish.- Philippoussis (2003 Wimbledon), Safin (2004 Australian Open), Baghdatis (2006 Australian Open), and Gonzalez (2007 Australian Open) all had impressive runs to the final but Federer found a way to spoil the party. Fish is far less accomplished than any of those guys, shouldn't have been a problem.

As far as the round robin goes, that's the nature of the system. Personally, I don't like it but it does mean players can afford a bad performance. Very few have gone through the Year-End Championships undefeated.

  6. There's nothing wrong with Roger.  He peaked at the right time.  There was a clear window of "the greats" like Andre retiring and the upstarts like Rafa really coming into their own.

Roger himself predicted that this year would be difficult, because he knew that the young guys were beginning to play at his level.

  7. Nothing's wrong. People are just taking more chances, mixing up their games to win now and he's not adjusting. The sudden rise of Djokovic also hasn't helped his cause, no wonder why all the Nadal and Federer fans hate him so much.

Roddick: He's had close battles with him in the past. He just got lucky in that third set when Fed played a bad service game

Murray: Murray's defeated him in the past so no surprises.

Stepanek: Well all I can say is he came to the net a lot and didn't let fed get into any rhythm.

Fish: He was having an outstanding tourney. He defeated Nalby and took Nole to 3 sets. So, for that tourney, he was someone completely different.

Incase you don't remember, towards the end of last year also he lost a lot of matches. He was lucky to win wimby and US Open. He lost twice to Nalby and was lucky that the round robin thingy in China kept him in the tourney else Gonzalez would have knocked him out there also.

  8. yea he's goin downhill

  9. Roger is still the man to beat.

    1. Stepanek won by 2 tie breakers. If you are a tennis player, you should know that tie breakers can go either way.

    2. Stepanek was exhausted in beating Roger that he had to quit in his next bout.

    3. If you watch Stepanek reaction after upset Roger Federer, you thought he just won the tournament. Why such celebration? because Roger is still the man to beat.

  10. Federer fans don't hate Djoker and we don't hate Rafa either. That's stupid. Who would hate a tennis player of talent? You can't like tennis and not appreciate talent.

There are a lot of tennis fans who dislike Djoko and Davydenko because of injury quitting. Its bull to suddenly end a game when you're only a game or two down. Comeon, just stand there, but don't quit. That's lame.  Only James Blake and Federer NEVER quit a match, no matter what they were feeling.
