WV Raman: I'm surprised to see four openers in the side – Cricket News Update
Bengal coach WV Raman has been surprised by the BCCI selectors’ decision to include four openers in their squad for the first two Tests of the four-match series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, starting in Ahmedabad on November 15.
In a meeting in Mumbai, on Monday, the new selection panel, headed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, as well as two
reserve players for the opening slot, in Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane.
The squad composition surprised the Bengal coach, WV Raman, who is not sure whether Rahane would vie with Vijay for the opening spot, if Sehwag misses out due to a finger injury, or he will be a back up for the middle order.
"I'm surprised to see four openers in the side. I'm not sure whether Ajinkya Rahane has been picked as a reserve middle-order batsman," Raman said during a media encounter, here in Kolkata on Monday.

Raman, however, feels the omission of Dinda was justified as the home side would be looking to exploit the spin friendly tracks.
