Question:

WW1 helmet or WW2 helmet?

i have aquired an old helmet either from WW2 or WW1. I thought it was a WW2 British Brodie helmet but my friends father said it was a WW1 helmet. and i have been getting many different answers from people. so could u please tell me what kind of helmet it is and how much it could be worth.

  1. If its anything like the helmet I have (1943 MK II), if you look on the inside very carefully (either scratched on the side or underneath the padding,), you should see the year that it was made. The design looks to be WW1 from the way it sticks up.

    as for the value, it will range. good condition ones (like the German helmet i have with the original armored infantry insignia is around 5k for near mint.

    yours is probably around the 100-200 dollar mark, but I'd take it to a collector first (museums or private collectors) just to be sure. especially since it appears to still have the unit insignia on the front.


  2. It looks like A WW1 Mark 1 Steel helmet (Brodie). I'm not sue as to the value.
