WWE: Chris Jericho vs. Yoshi Tatsu on WWE Superstars
Perhaps no one in professional wrestling world has seen more ups and downs than the first ever undisputed wrestling champion Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho became the first ever undisputed wrestling champion after he defeated two wrestling legends, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, on the same night. (However both these matches were characterized by outside interference).
But then the career of Chris Jericho took a downhill turn and he lost a match against the young Evan Bourne. Chris Jericho was desperately looking for a win and he got the opportunity against the Japanese sensation, Yoshi Tatsu.
Yoshi Tatsu is a young wrestler from Japan and is looking to make a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling. Yoshi Tatsu knew that he would become famous overnight if he beats and defeats the nine times Inter Continental champion, Chris Jericho.
Both wrestlers squared off in the ring and desperately waited for the start of the match. The match started as Chris Jericho disregarded the rules of professional wrestling and delivered a thumb to the eye of Yoshi Tatsu. Yoshi Tatsu was blinded and could not see for few moments. Chris Jericho took advantage of the opportunity and started delivering hard core punches to the head of Yoshi Tatsu. Chris Jericho then grabbed the head of Yoshi Tatsu and banged it hard on the steel ring corner.
Yoshi Tatsu was determined to win the match. He started delivering slaps to the chest of Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho quickly rolled out of the ring to avoid punishment. Instead of waiting for the return of Chris Jericho, Yoshi Tatsu executed a baseball slide and hit the head of Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho was lying on the concrete floor and was on the mercy of Yoshi Tatsu.
Yoshi Tatsu went after Chris Jericho outside the ring but Chris was ready for the attack. Chris Jericho countered the moves of Yoshi Tatsu and then banged him on the boundary wall outside the ring. The match was slowly slipping away from the hands of Yoshi Tatsu. After both wrestlers were back in the ring, the momentum of the match had turned in the favour of Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho ran in the ring and then stopped to kick the head of Yoshi Tatsu.
Then Chris Jericho did a vicious move and he landed his knee on the eye of Yoshi Tatsu. Yoshi Tatsu screamed in pain and rolled out of the ring immediately. When the referee went after Yoshi Tatsu, the audience realized that the Japanese wrestling superstar was bleeding from his eye. The referee quickly called in the medical personal that treated Yoshi Tatsu.
The referee stopped the fight for some time and asked Chris Jericho to halt his attacks. Many thought it as the end of the match as Yoshi Tatsu was bleeding profusely. But then the Japanese wrestling hero mustered all his strength and told the referee that he was ready to fight again. The crowd cheered for Yoshi Tatsu, as he defied the general expectations of every one. Even Chris Jericho was astonished and somewhat impressed from the bravery of Yoshi Tatsu.
Then Chris Jericho grabbed Yoshi Tatsu and trapped him in the dreaded “Walls of Jericho.” “Walls of Jericho” is an infamous but highly effective submission move. Many wrestlers have tapped out when Chris Jericho trapped them in this submission hold. Yoshi Tatsu was in pain and was screaming, as Chris Jericho applied pressure on his lower back.
Yoshi Tatsu gathered all his strength and desperately tried to reach for the ropes but the pain was too much for him. After extreme pain and suffering, Yoshi Tatsu eventually tapped out in the Walls of Jericho. The referee awarded the match to Chris Jericho. The audience cheered for the winner as Chris Jericho stood proudly and arrogantly in the wrestling ring.
