WWE: Final participants in Money in the Bank Ladder Match on RAW
It is perhaps one of the most awaited Pay Per View in the world of professional wrestling, as 8 wrestlers risk it all to become the Mr. Money in the Bank. The names of 8 top wrestlers were announced on Monday Night RAW who will be competing in a Money in the Bank ladder match. The idea of the Money in the Bank ladder match was coined by Chris Jericho and then acted upon by the WWE administration. A Money in the Bank ladder match is considered one of the most brutal and career threatening matches in professional wrestling.
The Money in the Bank ladder match starts as 8 wrestlers fight each other to grab a briefcase hanging at a height of more than 20 feet above the ring floor. The first wrestler grabbing the briefcase becomes Mr. Money in the Bank. The briefcase contains the contract to fight the World Champion at any time the winner may wish to do so. Almost all wrestlers who won the Money in the Bank ladder match were successful in cashing in their contracts and becoming World Heavyweight Champions or WWE champions.
However, this is not an ordinary fight, as wrestlers need a high ladder to grab the hanging briefcase. The wrestlers normally use ladders as weapons of mass destruction and knock down their opponents. Careers are on the line as bodies collide with steel ladders in and outside the ring. There have been instances in WWE where wrestlers fell from the ladder and never had the opportunity to stand up during the match again.
The Guest Host on Monday Night RAW announced the names of 8 participants of the Money in the Bank ladder match. The crowd was on its feet when it heard that the top wrestlers on the RAW roster will compete in the brutal and career defining Money in the Bank ladder match. The participants included the apex viper of WWE, Randy Orton, the current United States champion, The Miz, R-Truth, Chris Jericho, the high flying Evan Bourne, the Million Dollar champion Ted DiBiase, the Monday Night delight John Morrison and the Rated – R superstar, Edge.
This is an interesting choice of wrestling superstars, as it involves a high flying wrestler like Evan Bourne who can turn the match with his high risk manoeuvres in the air. Then there is Randy Orton who waits for his prey to come to him and then attacks with all his power. Randy Orton has been a multiple time WWE champion and the World Heavyweight champion. It is amazing that Chris Jericho, who actually coined the idea of the Money in the Bank ladder match, will also be competing in the ring. Chris Jericho is a veteran wrestler and became the first undisputed world champion in the history of professional wrestling.
Wrestling pundits are also betting on young wrestlers like John Morrison and R-Truth who can team up with each other. However, some argue that it is every man for himself in the Money in the Bank ladder match and John Morrison and R-Truth might counter the energies of each other. However, John Morrison and R-Truth will face a tough challenge during the match from the million dollar champion, Ted DiBiase and the current United States champion, The Miz.
It leaves the wrestling fans to the Rated R superstar, “Edge”, who has vowed to start a new era of controversy in the history of professional wrestling. Edge, who is a multiple times WWE champion and World Heavyweight champion, made those claims when he was drafted from SmackDown to Raw this year. It is difficult to predict the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match as it is nearly impossible to climb the ladder when 7 other wrestlers are standing in the ring and are waiting to throw you down. However, one thing is for certain: careers might end during this Money in the Bank ladder match.
