WWE News: SMACK DOWN Challenge - Drew McIntyre vs. Christian
Everyone was waiting for action when it was announced that Drew would fight Christian in a one-on-one singles wrestling match on Friday. It was Drew’s partner Dashing Cody Rhodes who defeated Christian last week after a tough and grueling fight. The opportunity was ripe for Drew to permanently injure Christian and drive him out of Friday Night Smack Down. On the other hand, Christian needed to show his fans that he still has what it takes to fight in the big league.
Both wrestlers squared off against each other in the ring to fight the battle. Christian and Drew McIntyre were joined by Dashing Cody Rhodes. Cody arrogantly walked on the ramp and sat at the announcers table to comment on the match. Though Cody officially declared that he was there for commenting on the match but everyone knew that he would interfere whenever Drew would need his help.
Drew focused his attack on Christian’s left arm at the start of the fight but Christian quickly rolled back to kick Drew right on his face. Christian then delivered an amazing move and grabbed Drew from his neck and tossed him in the air. Drew rolled in the air and then fell on the ring floor. Christian certainly proved that despite having an injured arm, he has what it takes to fight the former Inter Continental Champion. Drew rolled out of the ring in anger and tried to rethink his strategy. Christian followed Drew outside the ring but the sinister Scotsman grabbed Christian’s leg and banged him on the ring corner.
Both wrestlers were now outside the ring. Drew McIntyre grabbed Christian and tossed him over the boundary wall on the ring floor. Drew then rolled Christian into the ring and went for the cover but Christian kicked out before the referee’s final count of three. It was an interesting match and both wrestlers were giving their 110 % to the fight. Drew then focused all his manoeuvres on Christian’s injured left arm. Christian was in extreme pain but he did not tap out. Christian then climbed to the second turn buckle, jumped on Drew and executed a D. D. T to bang his head on the ring floor.
Christian then surprised everyone as he suddenly went for the cover on an unsuspecting Drew McIntyre and pinned him to win the match. Drew was furious as he never expected to lose in such a manner. Dashing Cody Rhodes, sitting at the announcers table, stood up and went after Christian. It seemed that both Drew and Cody had planned to attack and beat Christian. Both wrestlers started to beat Christian.
The crowd cheered as Matt Hardy ran onto the ramp and entered the ring to help his friend. Matt Hardy then rocked the ring after he delivered the Side Effect and smashed Cody’s back on the ring floor. But the numbers game proved too much for Matt Hardy as Christian was unable to move and Drew attacked him with all his strength. Drew Grabbed Matt hardy and delivered the Future Shock D. D. T. It was a sight to watch as Drew grabbed Hardy and banged his head hard on the ring floor.
The match cleared a lot of misconceptions. It is now evident that Dashing Cody Rhodes has formed a strong tag team with Drew McIntyre and they will come to each other’s help in all situations. Wrestling fans also know that Matt Hardy is loyal with Christian and will help him to fight against the tag team of Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. More fireworks are in-store for next Friday Night Smack Down when these wrestlers square off against each other in the ring once again.
