WWE Power 25: October 22, 2011 – John Cena captures first spot in the rankings
The Cenation Commander-in-Chief, John Cena captured first place in the Power 25 list updated until the weekend of October 22. The WWE Rankings were updated in conjunction with the Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science on accordance with the weekly segments.
John Cena participated in the only weekly segment during last week that was the Monday Night Raw Supershow. During October 17,
Monday Night Raw, the Interim Raw General Manager, John Laurinaitis rehired the ring announcer, Jim Ross and put him into a tag team fight teaming up with John Cena. The opponents were the WWE Champion, Alberto Del Rio and another ring announcer, Michael
Cole.
In the middle of Monday Night Raw, the Interim GM also unveiled that the winner would decide the stipulations for the WWE Championship match. At the end of the segment, the team of John Cena and Ross won the match as Cole tapped suffering from Ross’s Ankle
Lock.
The Cenation Commander-in-Chief hit Cole with an Attitude Adjustment before Ross put Cole into Ankle Lock. Suffering from the loss, the WWE Champion, Del Rio pulled out Cena from the ring and started punching him. It was bad luck for Del Rio that he not
only lost the match but was also treated with an Attitude Adjustment and steel stair hit by the Cenation Leader as he suffered the loss of deciding the stipulation.
The Champ, Cena decided the “Last Man Standing” stipulation in his match against Del Rio at Vengeance. Furthermore, due to major hits by Cena, Del Rio could not stand on his legs until the ten count by Cena himself. The Champ promised that Del Rio would
be in same situation at Vengeance. In addition, the Champ did not participate in Friday Night SmackDown segment.
Due to major efforts by the Champ, the Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science put Cena on the top of the Power 25 for the weekend of October 22. The marvellous upward jump was made by the Champ as he was at the fifth position in the last week’s rankings.
