WWE Professional Wrestling Rankings till July 26, 2010 – 5th to 9th position
After last week which was characterized by some epic matches, it is Kane on the 1st position, Sheamus on 2nd, Randy Orton on 3rd and The Miz on 4th.
The former World Heavy Weight Champion, Rey Mysterio has retained his 5th position in professional wrestling rankings. But Rey Mysterio went through a major twist of fate when Kane cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and stripped Rey Mysterio of his World Heavy Weight title. Rey Mysterio became a victim of the vicious Tomb Stone Pile Driver by Kane at the Money in the Bank, Pay per View.
However Rey Mysterio scored some major wins over Jack Swagger last week. Rey Mysterio initially succeeded in retaining his World Heavy Weight title at the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Rey Mysterio again clashed with Jack Swagger on Friday Night Smack Down to determine the number one contender for the World Heavy Weight Championship at Summer Slam. It was an interesting match as the wrestler gaining the first two pins was to be declared the winner of the match. Rey Mysterio won that match and now he will face the big red monster, Kane at Summer Slam.
John Cena has seen a downfall in his professional wrestling rankings as he lost the brutal h**l in a Cell, Steel Cage match against Sheamus to land on the 6th position. But this match was characterized by the interference from Nexus who indirectly helped Sheamus to win the match. But John Cena gained some glory on Monday Night RAW when he announced that he has assembled a team which would clash against the Nexus on Summer Slam.
Wrestling fans watched in awe as John Cena announced his mighty tag team on RAW. The mega tag team of John Cena includes himself, John Morrison, R – Truth, Edge, Chris Jericho, The Great Khali and the legendary Bret “The Hit Man” Hart.
It is the largest athlete of the world, The Big Show, who is on the 7th position in the professional wrestling rankings. Big Show participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match but failed to retrieve the briefcase. Almost every wrestler in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match tried to attack Big Show as everyone knew that the giant was the real dangerous man.
Big Show was included in one of the most memorable moments of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match as every other wrestler picked steel ladders and pilled them up on Big Show. However Big Show resurfaced again when he humiliated Straight Edge society on Friday Night Smack Down.
The group of 7 menacing wrestlers called the Nexus has brought havoc and destruction in the professional wrestling world as it prepares itself for the Mega Tag Team Match against John Cena’s team on Summer Slam.
The Nexus is on the 8th position in the professional wrestling rankings this week. The leader of Nexus Wade Barrett gained some respect on Monday Night RAW as he fought with the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry and defeated him in a one on one singles wrestling match. It was the first time that a member of Nexus fought a singles match in the squared circle of WWE.
This week was tough for the current Inter Continental Champion, Kofi Kingston who is 9th in the professional wrestling rankings. Kofi Kingston was the favorite to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match but he failed to retrieve the briefcase.
However Kofi Kingston executed a memorable leg drop on the Scottish wrestling superstar, Drew McIntyre and broke through the Spanish announcers table. But Kofi Kingston lost a major match against the arrogant Dolph Ziggler. The match ended when Vickie Guerrero interfered in the match to save Dolph Ziggler and Dolph Ziggler trapped Kofi Kingston in the dreaded submission hold called the “Sleepers Hold”.
