WWE Smack Down – Edge and Christian back together as a tag a team
The spotlight of this week’s WWE Smack Down in Houston, Texas was the reunification of nine times World Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian.
When Kane refused to join Wade Barrett’s new division, little did he know the aftermaths of his decision. Members of The Corre assaulted The Big Red Monster outside his locker room and dragged him all the way to the ring. The barbaric act helped him register
a win over Wade Barrett when the referee disqualified him from the match. With The Corre continuing their painful assault, The Big Show rushed to the ring only to find himself teaming up with Kane to take on Wade Barrett and Heath Slater. Despite being banned
from ringside by the Smack Down General Manager, Justin Gabriel and Ezekiel Jackson intervened in the match, resulting in their group being disqualified.
Rivalries between The Phenom of Death Valley, The Undertaker and The Game, Triple H finally seemed to shape up cohesively when Triple H stepped forward to the ring and boldly took on The Undertaker’s challenge of a ‘No Holds Barred’ match at Wrestlemania
XXVII. The Game added that there would be no emotions in his mind for The Deadman as he goes into the match with just one mission in mind, to end the streak of 18-0. This year’s Wrestlemania main event has truly promised to be thrilling. The WWE Universe is
about to witness a clash of the titans.
The two extreme superstars in WWE, Drew McIntyre and Rey Mysterio were compelled to compete in single’s action by Smack Down General Manager Theodore Long. The extreme athletism of high flying Rey Mysterio was too much for Drew. Rey repeatedly delivered
a series of scissor kicks and leg drops and a 619 and splash combo for the win. Cody Rhodes emerged from backstage and offered Rey a revenge match at Wrestlemania to which he readily accepted.
WWE NXT season three Diva’s winner, Kaitlyn, really put up a fight against her contender Layla. She also avoided getting distracted by the outside interference of Michelle Cole. However, one half of the team LayCool team still managed to secure the win following
a Lay-out neckbreaker. After the match was over, Michelle connected Kaitlyn with a malicious drop kick from behind, which knocked her out.
To the delight of a number of fans, John Cena appeared on Smack Down and said that WWE Champion, The Miz, had made the biggest mistake of his life by first knocking the enigma down with a skull crushing finale and then blindsiding him with the People’s elbow.
Cena added that The Miz would get a taste of his own maneuver but would also be stripped off his title at Wrestlemania, where the whole fiasco would come to an end.
WWE NXT season four runners up Brodus Clay appeared on the screen of Smack Down for the first time with his partner Alberto Del Rio. The seven-foot-tall monster who savaged Christian brutally last week had a lot to prove as he teamed up with Alberto Del
Rio to face the duo of Edge and Christian. With the later team being the chief of tag team action, the task seemed rather easy to beat their counterpart, when both used their veteran skills for the pin. While Del Rio and his special ring announcer were thrown
down to the mat, Captain Charisma took Brodus Clay with surprise Tornado DDT and the Ultimate Opportunist followed up with a flying spear to end the night in supremacy.
