WWE Update: Nexus fails to invade Smack Down
Friday’s episode of Smack Down kicked at Psifi, the new home of Friday Night Smack Down at Bridgeport, CT when the rated R superstar Edge started the proceeding. The number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, who faces The Big Red Machine,
Kane at Survivor series, was up for a ramp contest against Alberto Del Rio. Edge who got traded to Smack Down last month, was on a roll ever since the match started. He exchanged blows after blows, but Del Rio managed to throw him out of the ring, rendered
a number of cheeky shots, and gave him a tough fight before locking him in an arm lock.
Edge quickly got out of the lock and knew how to seal the deal, for which he was certainly ready. The Nexus however showed the presence meanwhile, for the first time at Smack Down and their five members minus Wade Barett entered the ring and overwhelmed
both Edge and Alberto Del Rio.
After throwing both superstars out, Ontonga grabbed the microphone and said that they were into Smack Down and take it over. The news came as rather displeasing to captain of Friday night Smack Down, The Big Show who looked raged and got out to the center
with Rey Mysterio, followed by Devil’s favourite Deamon Kane. Edge and Del Rio who were ringside quickly chipped in and the 5 members of team Smack Down took no time to cast Nexus out.
General Manager of Smack Down, Theodore Long announced the main event of the night while arranging a match between Nexus against Kane, Rey Mysterio, The Big Show, Alberto Del Rio and Edge which he termed as the biggest tag team match ever in the history
of the show.
In singles action, Dolph Ziggler, first time in long not accompanied by his girl friend Vickie Gurrero took on JTG. Both the superstars exchanged series of kicks and blows. Ziggler gave JTG the zig zag but got JTG’s shoulders roll out before the three counts,
but soon locked him in a sleeper hold to gain the victory. After the Intercontinental Champion won, his new girlfriend, Kaitlyn entered the ring to congratulate him. Seeing this Vickie ran in and showed her frustration by delivery a vicious slap onto her face,
leaving the NXT Diva helpless.
Backstage, Nexus was shown humiliating Rey Mysterio who got injured badly. Sources revealed that Kofi Kingston would take his place later that night in the ten men tag team match. Next up was a triple threat match between Dashing Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre
and MVP to determine the number one contender for Intercontinental Championship. Rhodes and McIntyre initiated things by attacking MVP and soon got their stakes differently while attacking each other in and outside the ring. MVP got advantage of the calamity
between the two and finally managed to get the drop kick over McIntyre to cover him for the pin. MVP is now the number one contender for Intercontinental Championship and now faces Dolph Ziggler at Survivor Series.
Vickie demanded a match against Kaitlyn in order to take revenge from her, over kissing her boyfriend. Long gave her the chance. Throughout the course of their match, the NXT Rookies Diva dominated Smack Down’s official consultant but in the end Vickie,
with the help of ropes got the pin over Kaitlyn. The two big guns in the WWE, Chris Masters and Tyler Reks fought in a one on one action. Reks who has been extremely impressive since joining the show continued his dominion over Masters, and easily managed
to defeat him second time in a week.
In the main event of night, Micheal McGill and Kofi Kingston started the 10 men show. Early in the match, Smack Down got the upper hand by manhandling McGill and tagging every member repeatedly. McGill however managed to tag one half of WWE Tag Team Champion
Justin Gabriel, who with his team tried injuring Edge.
The nine times World Champion Edge was clever enough to allow the giant Big Show to get in who troubled the Nexus. While delivering a clothesline to Slater, Del Rio was accidently hit by Show who backed out of the match.  The Big Red Monster for no reason
started targeting his own men by first choke slamming The Big Show and then going after Edge. However, the rated R superstar countered with a spear to both Kane and then Ontonga to cut dreams of Nexus of invading WWE’s Smack Down.
