WWE Update: Rey Mysterio wins the World Heavy Weight Championship
Rey Mysterio is called the ultimate underdog for a reason, which is beyond the comprehension of people who evaluate things in black and white. He has defeated many taller, tougher and heavier opponents during his storied wrestling career. He is the masked man. He is the high flying, master of the 619, “Rey Mysterio”. He competed against the top wrestlers of the Smack Down roster in the Fatal Four Way, “Pay per View” for the World Heavy Weight Championship.
Rey Mysterio won the World Heavy Weight Championship as he competed against the 500 pounder, 7 feet tall giant, the dominant “The Big Show”, the straight edge champion, the manipulative wrestler, “C M Punk” and the World Heavy Weight Champion till Sunday, the two times All American Wrestling Champion, “Jack Swagger”. It was not an easy task to defeat such acclaimed wrestlers who are known for their brutal power and highly effective wrestling skills.
Ret Mysterio, entered the ring with one purpose and that was to carry the championship belt at the end of the match. Rey Mysterio weighs just around 170 pounds and he seemed like a child in front of tall and heavy wrestlers like Jack Swagger and Big Show. The crowd was on its feet and was eagerly waiting for the contest to begin. Many wrestling pundits believed that it will be the Big Show who will bulldoze his way in the ring to win the match.
The 500 pounder Big Show started the match by knocking out every one. Big Show then delivered powerful chops on the chest of C M Puck and Jack Swagger with his huge right hand. Even the high flying Rey Mysterio seemed no match against the giant, as the Big Show picked wrestlers with one hand and slammed them in the middle of the ring. Then Jack Swagger executed an effective move, as he ran in the ring to make some momentum and then stopped to smash the head of Big Show on the ring floor. Every one else took the advantage of the situation and punched and kicked on different parts of Big Show’s massive body.
It was a classic match, as it was characterized by multiple near falls and complete chaos and anarchy. All wrestlers executed their wrestling finishers and went for cover at different times in the match. However all the covers were unsuccessful as there was always a wrestler in the ring to break the three count. The match needed some outside force to change the seemingly unending status quo.
All of a sudden, everything turned red as Kane entered the arena with a casket. Kane who has been unleashing fury in the professional wrestling world is trying to find the culprit who attacked his half brother, Under Taker and left the reaper of souls in a vegetative state. Kane picked up C M Punk, threw him in his casket, and destroyed the momentum of the match. Big Show was outside the ring on the concrete floor and only Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger faced each other.
Then Rey Mysterio proved to the world that why he is called the ultimate underdog, as he ran in the ring and kicked on the exposed abdomen of Jack Swagger. Rey Mysterio then used his high flying tactics and landed on the abdomen of Jack Swagger after jumping high in the air by using the leverage of the top ring rope. The crowd was on its feet as Rey Mysterio went for the cover and referee counted to three without any interruptions and with both shoulders of Jack Swagger touching the ring floor. The charismatic under dog, Rey Mysterio became the new World Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion and defeated 3 former World Heavy Weight champions.
Perhaps this is the start of the new era as the champion Rey Mysterio wall walk proudly in the world of professional wrestling with his World Heavy Weight Championship belt around his waist.
