WWE: Wrestling Rankings till July 4, 2010 – Top 5 Wrestlers, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton & John Cena
It was a tough and unsettling week for the professional wrestling world, as wrestlers geared up for the upcoming Pay per View called Money in the Bank. In this Pay per View, the winning wrestlers of both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smack Down will receive a title shot on the WWE Champion and the World Heavy Weight Champion respectively. The week was also characterized by the brutal attack on the WWE Chairman, Mr. Vince McMahon by the menacing and vicious group which calls itself the Nexus.
It is the Celtic warrior, “Sheamus” who has occupied the top position in the WWE rankings for professional wrestlers. Sheamus scored a major victory over the strongest man in the world known as Mark Henry. Sheamus won the match when he delivered his infamous Brogue kick in the face of Mark Henry. This kick was so devastating that Mark Henry failed to stand after the match and Sheamus succeeded to score a major win to achieve the top position. Sheamus who comes from a long line of Celtic warriors, is the current WWE champion. He will defend his WWE championship against John Cena in the Money in the Bank Pay per View in a “h**l in a Cell Match”
It is the wrestling superstar from Ghana, West Africa who is ranked on the 2nd position in the WWE wrestling rankings. Kofi Kingston, who is known for his high flying athletic ability has been climbing the ladder of success in recent weeks. Kofi Kingston improved his rankings by winning the Inter Continental title belt as he defeated the Scottish born wrestler, “Drew McIntyre” in a one on one wrestling match. His recent win was on Friday Night Smack Down as he successfully defended his Inter Continental Championship against the challenger, Dolph ZIggler. However, the biggest challenge for Kofi Kingston will be to win in the Money in the Bank Ladder match after defeating 7 other superstars like Big Show and Kane.
The ultimate underdog, the high flying, “Rey Mysterio” is on the 3rd position this week. Rey Mysterio lost two ranking points this week as he was ranked on 1st position seven days ago. Mysterio defied all odds and pinned Jack Swagger and defeated Big Show and C M Punk to become the World Heavy Weight Champion at Fatal Four Way, Pay per View. However, Rey Mysterio received a hard beating when he teamed up with Big Show to fight against the team of Jack Swagger and Dashing Cody Rhodes. Jack Swagger was so vicious in the match that he almost broke the ankle of Rey Mysterio by applying his vicious submission move called the “Ankle Lock”.
It is the Apex Predator of WWE, the viper, “Randy Orton” who has occupied the 4th position in the professional wrestling rankings. Randy Orton scored a major win in the Mega Tag Team Match on RAW, which featured all 8 participants of the upcoming Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Randy Orton entered the match and then it took him 5 seconds to finish it off as he executed his famous wrestling finisher called the R.K.O on Ted DiBiase. Randy Orton needs to win the Money in the Bank Ladder match to receive the title shot at the WWE champion.
It is the nine time WWE champion, John Cena who has retained his 5th position from last week. John Cena will fight Sheamus for the WWE championship in a brutal h**l in a Cell match. John Cena has also vowed to end the march of the group Nexus. Nexus is the same group consisting of former NXT rookies, which nearly ended the career of John Cena by giving him a beating of a life time. John Cena has overcome many difficult challenges during his professional wrestling career but none equals the intensity and viciousness when it comes from the Nexus.
