WWE and World Heavy Weight Titles: The New Wrestling Rankings - Top 5 Wrestlers

It has been a turbulent and exciting week in the world of professional wrestling, as fortunes were altered and championship belts changed hands. Some wrestlers were able to defend their titles while others simply lost them at the Fatal Four Way, Pay per View. The change brought some wrestlers down on the professional wrestling ranking and helped others climb the ladder of success. The last week was important because the masters of two of the most important and prestigious wrestling belts, the WWE Championship and the World Heavy Weight Championship were changed.

It is the high flying Rey Mysterio who is ranked as the top wrestler over professional wrestling rankings. The masked, Rey Mysterio who is known as the ultimate underdog, defied all odds and defeated Big Show, Jack Swagger and C M Punk to win the World Heavy Weight Championship at Fatal Four Way, Pay per View. Rey Mysterio executed his famous wrestling finisher called the 619 and landed on the neck of Jack Swagger to defeat him.  Weighing just about around 170 pounds, he has been on a streak of defeating much heavier and larger wrestlers. Many wrestling fans believe that this may be the start of a new era where Rey Mysterio will rule the ring in the weeks to come.

Next the Celtic Warrior ‘Sheamus’, who jumped from the 9th position last week to the 2nd position this week over the wrestling rankings. Sheamus received a sudden surge after he defeated John Cena, Randy Orton and Edge at Fatal Four Way to win the WWE Championship. The match was characterized by outside interference of NXT rookies and Sheamus took advantage of the situation and pinned John Cena to win the title. Sheamus, who is known for his dominant attitude inside the ring, will bulldoze anyone coming after his title. Sheamus is the first Irish born WWE champion in the history of professional wrestling.

It is Boom Boom time as the Jamaican born wrestling superstar; Kofi Kingston has grabbed the 3rd position over the wrestling rankings. Kofi Kingston held his third position from last week onwards as he defeated Drew McIntyre for the Inter Continental Championship title at Fatal Four Way, Pay per View. Kofi Kingston is known for his high flying tactics and unorthodox fighting skills in the ring. Many wrestling fans believe that Kofi Kingston will stop at nothing and will become the next World Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion.

On the other hand, it was a bad week for the big heavy giant, Big Show, as he failed to retain his 1st position from last week and landed on the 4th position. Big Show is considered the most dominant wrestler in the ring and has beaten many powerful wrestlers. However the 7 foot tall giant failed to capture the World Heavy Weight Championship in the Fatal Four Way match. Another shock came to the near 500 pound man when he squared off against the former World Heavy Weight Champion Jack Swagger for a one on one match. Jack Swagger trapped the giant in a vicious submission hold called the “Ankle Lock”. Jack Swagger nearly broke Big Shows ankle and the poor guy was unable to stand after the match.

John Cena who has become one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling is currently on the 5th position. John Cena had a rough week. He lost his WWE championship to Sheamus in the Fatal Four Way, Pay per View. John Cena was furious after the match as the match was characterized by interference from former NXT rookies. Rookies disregarded the rules of professional wrestling and gave a beating to John Cena and helped Sheamus win the match.
