WWE pays tribute to 'Macho Man' Randy Savage at 'Over the Limit': Wrestling News
The WWE paid tribute to the former WWE superstar, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage at WWE Pay-Per-View event 'Over the Limit', who passed away due to an accident on Friday, May 20. Many WWE Superstars performed Savage’s move during their matches.
'Over the Limit' started with a video titled, “In Memory Of” in the honour of Savage’s classic moments. CM Punk performed Savage’s move 'Diving Elbow Drop' during the Tag-Team Championship match against The Big Show and Kane. The Intercontinental Champion,
Wade Barrett also copied Savage’s Flying Elbow from the second rope while he was fighting with Ezekiel Jackson.
Savage suffered a life-threatening heart attack when he passed away due to car accident on Friday. Savage’s wife Lynn was also with him during the accident. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to the local hospital for treatment. Florida Highway Patrol
stated that Savage was driving 2009 Jeep Wrangler. He lost his control and collided head-on with a tree. He was sent to Largo Medical Centre, where he died due to serious injuries. He was 58 years old on his death. The cops also confirmed that alcohol was
not the factor for his death.
According to the officials, Randy and his wife were wearing the seatbelts at the time of accident. Savage had celebrated his first marriage anniversary early of this month on May 10 with his wife. Just after a year of his marriage, Savage suffered with a
shocking death.
Several top WWE superstars wrote on their twitter accounts on the passing of Savage.
The current WWE Champion, John Cena wrote on his twitter, “CeNation. The untimely passing of randy savage is indeed tragic. All true fans of wrestling will mourn this loss. One of the all time greats”
The Rock said, “RIP Randy “Macho Man” Savage – you were one of my childhood inspirations and heroes…  Strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family.”
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin said that he was shocked to hear about Savage’s death. He was the hellacious performer and had the supreme intensity in the ring.
Randy Savage, One of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, will always be in the heart of the people due to his awesome victories in the world of wrestling.
